Robert J. Key was the Owner and Founder of Key Bellevilles, Inc. He was a graduate of Dickinson College with a Juris Doctorate degree from Dickinson Law School in Carlisle, Pennsylvania. He resided and practiced law in Allegheny Township, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania.
In 1967, he purchased Ohio Speciality Springs, a division of Handy and Harman located in Cleveland, Ohio.
In 1969, Mr. Key moved the company to a new industrial park in Allegheny Township, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, to manufacture Belleville springs exclusively.
Mr. Key was a pilot and owner of a single engine (Cessna 210). He visited companies with the use of his plane for sales and was able to personally visit many manufacturers in North America. The company has grown since 1967 to become a manufacturer of Bellevilles all over the world.
After our 50th anniversary in 2017, Mr. Key had grown Key Bellevilles into one of the top companies of bellevilles internationally and domestically. It continues to grow after his passing in 2021.
The foundation of his company continues to be run by Mr. Key’s wife, CEO/Owner, Patty Key, with the experience and knowledge of his family members and employees.
